RV Polishing Services
Polishing to remove oxidation
When removing oxidation, first a thorough wash is performed followed by an evaluation on the condition of the surface. Once evaluated, the surface might be lightly sanded to remove heavier oxidation. Then polished using a high-speed polisher and a polishing compound.
Afterwards, the surface is sealed with a paint sealant or with one of our more protective Ceramic Coatings.
Depending on the level of service desired, a follow up polishing step will be performed to bring out the maximum amount of clarity from the surface. In some instances of light oxidation, a less intense service will be performed. In order to leave as much material on the surface as possible.
removing swirls & scratches
Although the process to remove scratches and swirls is very similar to removing oxidation. The difference between polishing gel-coat is drastically different from polishing clear coat like you have on RVs with full body paint.
The thickness of gel-coat on average is 3 times as thick as the clear coat that protects your RV. Meaning that when you polish a painted RV you have to be careful with the polishes, tools and methods used when removing swirls and scratches.
Polishing painted RVs follow the same preparation steps as polishing gel-coat but with a slight difference. Multiple test spots are performed to evaluate steps necessary.. These test spots are made so the best possible method is decided on. A method that is going to remove the least amount of clear coat while at the same time removing the most amount of scratches.
